The core functions of the Directorate of Student Placement and Alumni Relations (DSPAR) are,

  • To invite prominent resource persons/alumni to guide and prepare students for different competitive exams.
  • To provide different career opportunities for the students through workshops/seminars.
  • To build industry linkages and conduct a campus recruitment drive for student placement.
  • To enhance alumni network through active alumni engagement events.

DSPAR conducts a variety of student-centered activities aimed at enhancing academic and career readiness. These include guidance sessions to help students confidently tackle competitive exams, industry-led talks, soft skills training to boost employability, and sessions on GPSC/UPSC preparation. To further support student development, Goa University has signed MoUs with Be Mahika, the Bodhi Academy, and Rubicon Skills Development Pvt. Ltd. for specialized training programs.

The University invites companies annually for the campus placement. A significant number of companies take part and select students based on their specific requirements. Some of the prominent recruiters includes, Bajaj Finance Ltd., SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd., ICICI Life Insurance Company Ltd., Niva Bupa Health Insurance Company Ltd., Cipla Ltd., Astec Life Science Ltd., Syngenta Biosciences Pvt. Ltd, Lakshya Academy, Goan Recreation Clubs Pvt. Ltd., Unichem Laboratories Ltd., Caculo Group, Aspire Corporate Solutions, SR Inspection LLP, Palmarinha Resorts, Jubilant Foodworks, Tirumphant Institute of Management Education, Godrej Agrovet Ltd, Mumbai, Deccan Fine Chemicals Pvt. Goa University has two registered alumni association, Goa University Alumni Association (GUAA) (Reg. No. 90/Goa/96) and its chapter namely, Chemistry Department Faculty & Alumni Association (CDFAA) (Reg. No. 491/Goa/2010). Our alumni are dedicated mentors who guide students through career guidance programs, personal interactions and workshops. Various alumni activities are conducted at school, such as, CDFAA in association with School of Chemical Sciences, organizes annual get-together of M.Sc. chemistry students on every 26th January, Goa Business School organize alumni connect lecture series, alumni provide NET/SET mentoring sessions to the students, alumni are the members of various committees of Goa University. The GUAA organizes annual alumni meet featuring panel discussions hosted by notable alumni as panelists to invite suggestions for the progress of the institutions. Alumni association provide financial assistance to meritorious and needy students.

Terms of Reference:-

  • To provide different opportunities and knowledge about different domains to the students on University Campus.
  • To invite prominent Resource persons / Alumni to guide and prepare for different competitive exams.
  • To organize Workshops / Training / Seminars for the benefit of students.
  • Develop interaction with Industrial Delegates.
  • Motivate students for self-employment.

  • To organise guidance Workshops/ Training programmes for students.
  • To help to secure/ identify appropriate placement/ Professional avenues and ascertain professional growth of the students/ alumni members and communicate to the student.
  • To compile placement data of the School/ Programme.
  • To organize Goa University Alumni Meet.
  • The members/ Co-ordinators shall assist the Director, DSPAR in organisation of placement and Alumni Relations related activities of the University in general at their respective Schools in particular.
