Admission Procedure for International Students :
There are two options for admission to Goa university – (I) Through ICCR scholarship and (II) On a self-financed basis.
I - ICCR scholarship route:
The ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) route is for those foreign students who wish to avail scholarship of Government of India to study in India. Please follow the following procedure for the same:
All the applications by foreign students are required to be routed through the Study in India (SII) portal of Ministry of Education, Government of India. The link for the same is as follows:

You may therefore first register as a student using the above link. Upon completion of registration, you will get SII ID. You are required to provide this ID at the time of applying for visa.
After registering on the SII portal, you will have to go to the ICCR admission portal at the link below and apply for the programme in which you wish to enrol at the Goa University.

You will have to first register on the above ICCR portal as a student.
After registration please submit your application by following the procedure mentioned on the portal.
Once you upload your application on the portal, we will download all your application data and verify it for your eligibility which includes approval of the institute in your home country from where you have graduated and verifying if you fulfil the requirements for admission to the programme you have applied for.
Upon approval of your application, we will upload our offer letter document on the same portal. You can download this offer letter and provide your acceptance of the offer on the portal.
You will receive a confirmation from the ICCR after your acceptance of the offer.
After this final confirmation by ICCR you can reach out to the Indian embassy in your country for a student visa. Please note that your SII student ID and the offer letter are a must for obtaining a visa to India.
II - Study on a self-financed basis:
For this the procedure is follows:
All the applications by foreign students are required to be routed through the Study in India (SII) portal of Ministry of Education, Government of India. The link for the same is as follows:

You may therefore first register as a student using the above link.
Once you register you will get an SII ID. Please note this as it will be required while applying for the visa. It is mandatory to submit the same to Indian embassy while applying for a student visa.
After registering on the SII portal, you can apply for the programme in which you wish to enrol at the Goa University on the SII portal. The documents required are listed on the portal itself and you may please upload the same at appropriate links in the portal.
Once you upload your application on the portal, we will download all your application data and verify it for eligibility which includes approval of the institute in your home country from where you have graduated and verifying if you fulfil the requirements for admission to the programme you have applied for.
Upon approval of your application, we will upload our offer letter document on the SII portal. You can download this offer letter and provide your acceptance of the offer on the portal. We will then confirm your acceptance on the portal itself.
After the final confirmation from our side, you can reach out to the Indian embassy in your country for a student visa. Please note that your SII student ID and the offer letter are a must for obtaining a visa to India.
You may also note that SII offers limited number of scholarships for certain programmes. The scholarship amount may cover part of the programme fees. However, such scholarships may not be available to all the applicants.
