Goa University has a limited corpus of funds to provide support to the students at various levels. Besides, Government of Goa and Government of India promotes education at various levels by providing support in the form of fellowships and scholarships for funding under various banners. Various schemes that are available from time to time are announced by the concerned agencies. This page provides you a glimpse of the financial opportunities while studying/ doing research at Goa University.
The scheme for grant of financial assistance to the on campus students (PG/M.Phil./Ph.D.) of Goa University to present papers in International Conferences/Seminars outside India. The objective of this scheme is to provide travel and maintenance grant to encourage students to undertake original research, and to present research papers, and to publish them in reputed journals or edited volumes. It is also to provide exposure to students by enabling them to attend international conferences/seminars abroad which would provide them an opportunity to interact with scholars in the fields of their interest. The Application Form shall be processed through proper channel for the approval of the Vice-Chancellor.
This funding support is meant for the students who have registered under full-time Ph.D. programmes at various departments. A limited fund is available and therefore the studentship is offered to the limit of funds. Watch for the call of applications and apply using the enclosed form. The notification is normally announced in early start of academic year and the studentships are offered during first semester after scrutiny of applications. Students not supported by any scholarship/ fellowship and need small funding support are offered this funding based on availability of funds, availability of suitable job opportunities on the campus. The student has to work for a limited number of hours per week and (s)he is paid on an hourly basis of contribution. Visit Welfare >> Directorate of Students Welfare for more information
The University Scholarships i.e. Merit Scholarship, Free Studentship and Student Aid Fund is awarded to the eligible Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Postgraduate Diploma students enrolled in various Schools of the University Campus. Besides the limited University support as above, Government of Goa offers funding support to the students desiring to pursue higher studies. | Scholarship for Students with disabilities | Eligibility: (1) The Scheme is applicable to students possessing disability of 40% and above.
