Seminar Halls

To host academic functions/ seminars/ conferences auditoriums with different capacities are available at following tariff. The charges are to sustain maintenance.

Terms and Conditions

  • The Auditorium shall be made available to interested Parties / Departments on first come - first served basis provided it is not required for University / concerned teaching Department functions.
  • The halls are not for Political parties/ activities, etc. The requisition made by the interested users will be entertained only if there are more than 250 participants attending such events in case of Auditorium at Department of Chemistry and minimum 120 participants in case of Auditorium in Department of Biotechnology. Proper justification indicating the possibility of above said attendance should be submitted along with the request.

  • The interested Parties / Departments shall be required to submit the application 30 days in advance in prescribed Form to the Head of the concerned Department for booking the Auditorium by enclosing a copy of the brochure of the event, number of participants attending the conference. The Head of Department shall forward the request so received with his/her specific recommendations to the Registrar for decision in the matter. In case of functions organised by the University, the Executive Engineer shall forward the requirement to the Head of the concerned Department directly.
  • However, the above said requirements (Clauses No. 2 & 4) shall not be observed in case of the functions organised by the concerned Departments under whom the responsibility of respective Auditoriums are entrusted with and both these Departments are exempted from payment of usage charges.
  • Sticking posters on the walls, drilling nails in the walls, serving alcohol is strictly prohibited.
  • Serving tea, snacks, refreshments, etc., inside the halls is strictly prohibited.
  • For any damages, losses caused, the charges as decided by the Registrar will have to be paid by the booking agency.
  • Hiring party would ensure cleanliness during the event and handing over.
  • For the Conference and Senate Halls, a facility for the generator backup (in case of power failure) exists at additional advance payment of Rs.1750.00/hour. Hiring of these halls also attract Rs.500.00 per day if the agencies desire to serve lunch, etc., in the lounge area of administration building.

Payment

The booking of the Auditorium shall be confirmed only on producing a proof of payment of the prescribed auditorium charges in the form of a Challan of payment to The State Bank of India, Goa University Branch, North Goa (IFSC Code: SBIN0004311; MICR Code: 403002053; A/c No: 10664493019) OR A Demand Draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Goa University (payable at Panaji or Bambolim). Ordinarily, the payments shall be made by the party concerned within a week of receiving intimation to that effect from the contact.
