Courses without University Entrance Tests
The eligibility criteria for admission (unless specified otherwise) to the various Post Graduate programmes leading to the degrees of M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. are based on:
- Candidate must pass the Bachelors examination with a minimum of 40% marks in the respective discipline.
- The candidates seeking admission should have at least 7 units of 100 marks each in the first, second and third years taken together in the subjects for which admission is sought except in cases where there are National tests.
- Admission is based on the merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
M.Sc. in Marine science
A candidate, for admission to M.Sc. (Marine Science) course, must have passed the examination of the Degree of Bachelor of Science of this University or an examination of any other University recognized as equivalent thereto with at least seven units of 100 marks each in the first second and third years taken together in one of the following subjects:
Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Earth Science/Geo- Physics.
Courses with University Entrance Tests
|M. Sc in Electronics||Admission to the M.Sc. (Electronics) course is open to any student passing the B,Sc. degree examination in Physics/ Computer Science/ Electronics with at least 55% aggregate marks from any recognised University. Eligible candidates have to appear for an entrance test, which will have 50% weightage for Goa University students while 100% weightage for other University students.|
|M. Sc. in Chemistry||(A) The merit list in the Department of Chemistry shall be prepared on the basis of the total marks computed from the aggregate marks obtained at the qualifying examination (50% weightage) and the marks obtained in the Entrance Test (50% weightage), irrespective of the number of papers offered ( 6 or 3 ) in the subject at the qualifying examination. |
(B) In case of two candidates securing equal marks in the merit list, the candidate passing the qualifying examination with only one subject (six units) for which admission is sought will be placed above the candidate passing .the qualifying examination with two major subjects (three units + three units).
(C) In case of two candidates securing equal marks in the merit list as well as both having offered only one subject (six units) for which admission is sought, the candidates having higher marks in the qualifying examination shall be placed above the other.
(D) In case of two candidates securing equal marks in the merit list and having passed the qualifying examination with two subjects (three units + three units), candidate securing higher marks in the subjects for which admission is sought shall be placed above the other.
(E) In case of two candidates scoring equal marks in the merit list and having passed in qualifying examination with two subjects as well as having secured equal marks in the subject for Which admission is sought, candidate securing higher aggregate marks in qualifying examination shall be preferred.
(F) Unclaimed seats from Reserved Category shall be transferred to General Category. Note: Candidates applying for admission to the M.Sc. (Chemistry) programme shall be eligible to be admitted to only one of the three specialisations at M. Sc. (Part II).
|MFS||Graduates,Post-graduate and professionals like CA's, ICWA's, CFA's who have completed their graduation with 50% aggregate marks at graduation from Goa Universily or any other recognised Universities in India or abroad. Graduates possessing any other degree other than B.Com./Management Degree or Diploma/CA's/ICWA's/CFA's have to undergo foundation course in Accounting and Finance. Eligible candidates have to appear for written test/personal interview Eligible industry-sponsored candidates, foreign candidates and professionals may directly be called for personal interview. Courses with National Entrance Tests
|M.Sc. in Marine Biotechnology|
|MBA||Candidate must have passed the Bachelor's Degree in any discipline like Arts, Science,Commerce, Law, Business Administration, Engineering, Architecture, Medicine etc. of this University or any other University recognised asequivalent thereto. The admissions are made onthe basis of Xavier's Admission Test (XAT)conducted by XLRI at various centres. One seat isreserved for candidate from the Armed forcesnominated by Army HQ.A separate brochure with detailed informationabout the programme can be obtained from the Department.|
|MCA||First year of the MCA Course is open to anycandidate passing the Bachelor's Degree in Arts,Science, Commerce, Law, Business Administration,Engineering or Architecture of this Universitysecuring at least 55% marks in the aggregate ofthis University (3 year integrated course or oldcourse) or an examination of another Universityfecognised as equivalent thereto. Admission to thecourse is based on all India entrance test conducted byC-DAC, Mumbal. A-6eparate brochure with detailedinformation about the programme can beobtained from the Department.|
Various other Post Graduate courses such as LL.M., M.Pharm., M.S., M.D., M.D.S., M.E., M.H.S. and other Post Graduate Diplomas are offered by the University through Its Affiliated Colleges Institutes.
