Remote sensing laboratory is a facility created in Goa University as a grant -in -aid project from Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The Laboratory was established in the year 2000 as an independent laboratory and housed in the zoology building. The main aim of the laboratory is to strengthen teaching and research in the field of remote sensing in different science Departments. In view of this an interdisciplinary course has been introduced across the faculties of science and is offered as optional paper in second or fourth semester. The laboratory has the entire necessary infrastructure to run the practical component of the course. Moreover many R&D projects funded by ISRO and DOD have been taken up.
