Study India Programme


As per the Memorandum for Academic and Cultural exchange between College of International Relations of Nihon University, Japan and Goa University, the Goa University has been conducting Study India Programme (SIP) since the last 10 years. The SIP was first launched by the Goa University in the year 2003. The five-month, 32-credit based extension programme consists of basic orientation in English, Indian Culture through Languages and Literature; India's History and Philosophy; Indian Politics; Economic Development and International Relations; International Management; Indian Society and Introduction to Indian Arts, Music, Dance and Theatre. Practice session on Yoga/Meditation is optional. SIP also includes educational field trips within India.


The number of students who participated in the Study Japan Programme from the year 2003 onwards is given below:


The 11th batch of SIP comprising of 15 students (11 girls and 4 boys) from College of International Relations, Nihon University, Japan will be participating in the Study Japan Programme from 22nd September 2014 to 28th February 2015 at the Goa University.
Under the Study Japan Programme (SJP) envisaged in the Memorandum, four Students from Post-Graduate Departments of Goa University participated in the Study Japan Programme from 1st June 2013 to 30th June 2013 for a one-month extension programme consisting of Japanese Culture, Society, Economics, Management and International Relations. SJP also includes educational field trips. The Goa University offers a Scholarship of Rs.50,000/- to students participating in SJP.
