Material Surface Analysis Laboratory

History:

The Laboratory consists of a Quantachrome Autosorb IQ system having model No. Autosorb IQ QUA 211011 installed in 2013. This instrument was purchased via the financial assistance of DST-Nano Mission program. The equipment caters to the need of Ph.D. students of Chemistry and interdisciplinary fields for routine surface area and pore structure analysis of materials based on the multilayer adsorption-desorption BET isotherm principle.

Research areas:

The equipment is useful for material chemistry, reaction kinetics and gas-solid catalytic interphase applications in particular.

Resources and facilities:

Autosorb instrument, Desktop Computer, Weighing Balance, Air-conditioned Lab.

Achievements:

This is one of the key facilities in SCS which has been beneficial to several research scholars working in the field of material chemistry, reaction kinetics and gas-solid catalytic interphase applications, duly acknowledged through the high-quality research publications of SCS.
